Jarchitecture was formed by husband and wife Jason + Jorja Gec and together they bring experience in both residential and commercial projects. Our strengths are broad and passion unwavering.

We aspire to express a design that exceeds your requirements and hopes, adding value and a stronger sense of personal attachment. No two clients or sites are the same, prompting thorough research and development meaning every design is special.

Landscape, light and texture are the focus of our designs, essentially softening physical boundaries by drawing attention beyond physical confines. We manipulate the sense of space beyond square meters; bigger isn't always better.

We believe in using quality materials that are a delight to touch, smell and see. Longevity is paramount as we hope you'll be at one with the design for a long time.

Our designs are charged with a sense of intent so that spaces take hold of the user, whether it be subtly or boldly. Our designs can be bold or gentle.

We embrace a holistic approach to design, so that architecture, interiors and landscape come together as one.

Jarchitecture provides full architectural services, including interior and landscape design. We can also customise our architectural service to your needs, providing partial architectural services.

Our team are experienced at managing projects through every architectural stage including design development, town planning, construction documentation, contractor selection and contract administration.

Starting with your design brief, we analyse the site, any existing buildings, your needs, priorities, likes and dislikes. We then collaborate and create unique design solutions in response to your brief.

Once concept design has been completed and approved, we further develop the drawings that reflect what the final building will look like.  These drawings consider size of spaces, preliminary material selection, joinery, planning overlays and client feedback. We ensure the level of detail within the drawings is sufficient to acquire town planning permits. At the end of Design Development, plans are submitted to Council, if required.

If a planning permit is needed, we act on behalf of the client to liaise with the Council and the assigned town planner, to provide additional information or amendments to manage objections and queries.

Once a planning permit has been obtained, we develop detailed working drawings to apply for a building permit. The working drawings describe every detail of how the structure should be built.

After developing the working drawings, we work on the client’s behalf to obtain quotes from selected builders. We check and compare these to help our client choose their builder and negotiate a contract that works for both parties.

Throughout the construction process, Jarchitecture acts as an impartial mediator between the builder and the client. We carry out site inspections, check building progress and compliance with working drawings and assessing whether any variations or additional construction costs are justified.
